Being part of Contacting the World is a great way to see international performance work from diverse young companies or to connect with other young performers and theatre makers across the globe. You can get involved in the following ways:
- Contact International Forum – the application process for this unique forum has now started! There are a limited number of spaces for international and UK based theatre practitioners working with young people for this popular week-long event so find out more below…
- Be our audience! Tickets will be cheap and go on sale both in the UK and internationally in Spring 2010. Watch this space….
- Join up to the vibrant Contacting The World online community!
- Volunteer – we need help from young people aged 15 – 25 in the festival week to help us make the event run smoothly. Register interest and apply to be a volunteer

Contact International Forum
18 – 26* July 2010, Manchester, UK
Contact International Forum is a unique opportunity for artists or practitioners working with young people across the world. It is a place to exchange ideas, share learning and ways of thinking in creating theatre by young people. The forum offers a platform to discuss innovative practice and build valuable relationships with international colleagues, as part of the Contacting the World 2010 festival.
Forum participants will have the chance to explore performance practice from across the globe and experience work created by young people from diverse cultural, social and economic contexts. There are a limited number of places available and CTW Contact International Forum participation includes:
- Access and contribution to a daily specialist practitioner forum, facilitated by Baba Israel, Contact’s Artistic Director and CEO
- Access and participation in the CTW company skills sharing workshop
- Access and contribution to daily discussion forums
- Tickets for all 12 CTW performances and matinee performances
- Accommodation for eight days (optional)
- Hospitality for eight days
- Local travel in Manchester
- Inclusion in the final street performance (subject to funding)
- *Option to participate in a Youth Leadership Summit on 26th July

Fees for a place on Contact International Forum 2010 are:
£600 + vat (without accommodation)
£750 + vat (with halls of residence accommodation)
