The Outhouse Collective is a dynamic, young company that developed out of the Roundhouse, in, London that aims to challenge an audience’s perception of theatre. The collective is a highly collaborative group of theatre-makers and artists whose strengths lie in their ability to utilise various media to create new contemporary drama in a meaningful and essential way.  It believes in utilising audio visual techniques throughout its devising process and offers opportunities to young creative people to work with them towards the creation of their work.

As part of the application process for Contacting the World we asked companies to go somewhere different and collaborate with someone new. This is what The Outhouse Performance Collective did.

The Outhouse Performance Collective’s activity was the creation of a collaborative tale based on a Greek hero.  The Company decided to create a story in collaboration with members of the public on the streets in London.  The construction of the tale was a highly interactive city-wide activity which was documented through blogs and other social media.
